I wanted to create a Christmas collection that was authentic and could stand apart in a quiet sort of way from the mainstream Christmas commercialism.
What I ended up with is a little group of paper products that is beautifully imperfect. They are very classic with touches of gold, hints of vintage, and have hand-cut and painted organic design elements.
I want Christmas this year to be beautifully imperfect as represented in my work. Striving after perfectionism anytime, including at the holidays, is so draining of joy.
So I need a shift in perspective this year.
Instead of having a perfectly trimmed house with perfectly executed gatherings, I want a perfectly content heart with perfectly real joy this holiday season.
I think we all can achieve this when we strive for authenticity rather than perfectionism. Isn’t this perfectly real joy what it’s all about at Christmas anyways?
I hope you can have this perfectly real joy too. And I hope you can use these products to pass on this perfectly real joy to others this Christmas season.
